Snow

Well I missed the weather report warning of snow so I got a lovely surprise when I opened the curtains yesterday and we had a good 3 inches! I was happy for the kids. We didn't get much chance to play in the last lot so when they got back from the cinema (treat for going to sleep well all week) they got to play out with their friends. However it is very icy and Chris fell this morning going to the car. It's still freezing, -5 last night so I think this ay stick around a day or two. Sledges to school me thinks!

Walking

Our baby took her first steps today!!! There's no stopping her now. She was nearly there but after a few tries she was off, toddling around. She thought it was so great everyone clapping at her. Bless, that make me feel just a little sad that she's growing up.

Update

Can't believe it's been so long since we did an update. Well, you would think it' been because we've been so busy but I honestly can't think what we have done. Well, we are really enjoying the house. Having a room with no telly is wonderful. My new fav way to spend an evening is cured up with a good book by the fire-yes I said book. I know I'm not a reader but some time ago I joined a book club in an effort to remedy this. I wasn't enjoying it but now that Jane Austin is done with there's a real chance that I'll finish this book.(I finished it on Friday!)

I also had my first meeting as chairman of the schools fundraising committee last night. Ha, fun and games-I was actually surprised at how quiet I was. Usually when I get a new project like this I go at it like a steam train. No, I achieved what I wanted which was to get some dates agreed for the events that we are planning and all the rest can wait. I really think I'm going to like this. I just have to remember it's not church! It felt so weird leading a meeting and not saying a prayer.

Lets see, after some very windy weather I got fed up with all the drafts so we now have flooring in the kitchen and as of yesterday in the hall. I love laminate-it's so easy to put down. The hall floor looks like it's always been there, which after the effort to put it down I was a little disappointed. On the up side it must have been a good choice. Oh yes-we also decided to get some insulation in the loft which left us with a great big hole in Aimees ceiling. As they are now afraid that something is going to come out of the loft to get them, Anna-Belle has taken to sleep on Emmaleighs floor and Aimee loves falling to sleep in our bed! Oh yeah and we discovered that the tap in the outside garage busrt! The thing had been leaking a week or so before we realised! Luckly the water was spraying out towards the door so none of our stuff got wet-what a blessing!! I did wonder why the garden was so water logged-opps. All fixed again now!

The Snow

I've really enjoyed the snow and am slightly bemused as to all the trouble it's causing. We haven't had loads but it's been great fun to feel like we've had a winter. The other day I thought it would be much easier to ditch the push chair in favor of the sledge. So Anna-Belle thought it was great being pulled up the hill to play group.

Aimme's been a bit ill with a sore throat, Emm and Dan were a bit miffed they had to go to school but that soon changed when I reminded them that I would be able to take them in the sledge. I'm telling you it wasn't easy-a real work out!
The as a treat the other night we had a fire (much better logs this time) and had toasted marshmallows. How fab. When the kids went to bed I think I spent the rest of the night chilling to music curled up in front of the fire. My idea of bliss. Real fires are so relaxing for me. Chris downloaded some Jon Schmidt, who is amazing by the way, so my evening was complete!

New Year

So yet another New Year, starting to feel old when all I wanted to do was stay in and struggled to stay awake. The last few months catching up on me I think.

Well, the other day we had a surprise visit from our friends down south. It was great to see them and another excuse to have a fire. This is our new living room, the only room to be finished for Christmas, but the best!
Anna-Belle enjoying my Sheour. The little monkey. Christmas for her this year has ment a licence to do what she enjoys most-eating chocolate and drinking "fizzy"
This is the view from our bedroom this morning. I love how everything looks when it snows, so peaceful-unlike inside our house!
Well, Happy New Year to you all xx

Update

Well after what feels like alot longer than a few weeks the house is starting to take shape. All I can say is that once this is doen I do not want to decorate for some time! Anyway-I will try and put some more pictures on later but for now here are some before and after shots.

Ok so the kitchen with the old ceiling looking delightful in blue (but will have to live with it for now) and once the ceiling had gone.

Other than the wall being knocked down I think that these doors have made the biggest difference. We know have a huge conservatory for all the kids toys which is great.

Shopping, shopping and more shopping

So we had the big move-some tim ago now but this was our back room before the work began.

This was Anna-Belle idea of helping. I think she put one thing in the van! Bless her-she thought she was being a big help.

A short break

Last week in between all the chaos of house moves we took some time out to do a photoshoot for our friends' model agency. The shoot was at the Hancock Museum in Newcastle to help them promote charitable gift donations for Christmas.

We took Emmaleigh & Danny along with us and they had a great time. Em is a natural but Danny just pulls stupid faces all the time.

For some reason in the photo above I seem to have grown a giants hand!

Bad Hair Day

Will do a West PArk update later but I just had to put these on as I thought they were great. For Children in Need the school did a "bad hair day" on Friday. All I can say is what a great theme. Never laughed so much in the school yard in my life. The teachers were fab too. So these are my creations!
